Wayfinders Get 3-1 Win Versus East Haddam
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Waikiki Wayfinders and the East Haddam Hyenas, pitcher Richard Arocha was the difference between victory and defeat. The Waikiki left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Wayfinders win. Waikiki is now 35-61, East Haddam 41-55.
Waikiki used a clutch at-bat from Paul Borns to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Wayfinders ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
In postgame comments to the Waikiki Daily, Arocha said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
