Knights Flame Out Against Martinez, Kings
|
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Robert Martinez of the Los Angeles Kings proved the point at Sportsman's Park, holding the Brooklyn Knights to 2 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Martinez made us look real bad today," Knights manager Enoch Tang said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Martinez had 8 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Kings took the 6-0 win.
This season, Martinez has a 2-12 record with a 5.67 ERA.
