Arizona Wins, 3-2, Over Sugar Kings
|
The Arizona Desert Storm and Havana Sugar Kings played an entertaining game for Desert Storm Stadium patrons.
Havana wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Kwan-wuk Tae, falling to the Arizona Desert Storm, 3-2. Tae threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Reliever Terry Donohue picked up the win. His record improves to 3-7. John Charles, who is tied for 10th in the AL in saves with 6, took the loss.
Corey Twyman was the walk-off hero for Arizona. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Desert Storm shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The crowd was raucous," said Twyman.
The win puts Arizona at 50-46 this season.
