Brooklyn pitcher Luis Lezama did his part in helping his team defeat the Dublin Porters, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Tanner Denny snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-2 on the season. Satoharu Sato suffered the loss. George Liston closed the door for Brooklyn, picking up his 25th save of the year.
John Baccari hit a run-scoring double off Satoharu Sato in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Knights in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Baccari had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Lezama. "Successful pitchers do it."
Brooklyn now has a record of 49-48 with the win.
