Kyiv right-hander Justin Madsen pitched his team to victory over the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs at Kyiv Grounds. The final score was 5-1. Adrian Ducote recorded the save, his 4th. The Cossacks lead the Federation League Knuckleheads Division by 3½ games.

Madsen kept the Blueberry Bulldogs under his thumb. He scattered 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 11. The right-hander upped his season record to 7-6.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Kyiv manager Boris Lahutin.
