Super Volcano Squeeze By Brooklyn, 2-1
|
The Yellowstone Super Volcano locked up a win at Volcano Ballpark, knocking off the Brooklyn Knights, 2-1. On the mound for Yellowstone was left-hander Jack Frick. He played a major role in the triumph. Ryan Podolsky, now 2-1, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The Knights fall to 9-22 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2051 season.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Andres Jaquez came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Brooklyn pitcher John MacMullen, he hit a first pitch cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Yellowstone on top, 2-1.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Yellowstone skipper GM AtticaOnline.
