Freeland Stars in 2-1 Blueberry Bulldogs Win
Sudbury pitcher Josh Freeland did his part in helping his team defeat the East Haddam Hyenas, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Freeland, the winner, moves to 10-6. He threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 14 and giving up 1 walk. Nate Yarbrough, who is tied for 10th in the FL in saves with 7, nailed down the save.

Sudbury needed the clutch hitting of Orlando Cuenca to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blueberry Bulldogs on top, 2-0. For the game, Cuenca had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I had one goal in mind," said Freeland. "Keep pounding the zone."

With the victory, the Blueberry Bulldogs upped their record to 48-44.
