Lansing Dismisses Memphis, 4-3
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Lansing Red Storm and Memphis Chicks.
Jeremy Myers, who is tied for 8th in the FL in strikeouts with 125, pitched well, but the Memphis Chicks still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Lansing Red Storm at Russwood Park. Picking up his 15th save was 33-year old left-handed pitcher Jeff Pledger.
Lansing used the hitting of Gregorio Gonzalez to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Storm on top, 3-1. For the game, Gonzalez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Memphis manager John Griffin. "The effort was great."
The win puts Lansing at 29-63.
