Portland got a strong outing from Chris Duffy as the Beavers defeated the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, 3-1, at Beavers Park. Duffy yielded no runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-8. The win for the Beavers lifted their record to 47-44.

Luke Spradley had a big 2-run double for the Beavers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Portland leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from two-time All-Star George Wilson and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beavers ahead, 3-0.
