Los Angeles and Detroit duked it out and the Kings came out victorious.

The Los Angeles Kings beat the Detroit Pizzas, 7-5, at Pizzas Ballpark. Dave Martinez, who finished 2nd in the AL in hits with 187 in 2050, starred for Los Angeles. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Kevin Feltes picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-6. David Malloy suffered the loss. Earning his 23rd save of the year was Eric Barone.

Martinez had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 sinker from David Malloy, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Kings a 6-5 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Martinez.

"It was a pretty good night," said Martinez.

With the win, Los Angeles pushed its record to 50-38.
