Havana 4-2 Losers to Super Volcano
|
Volcano Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the Havana Sugar Kings and Yellowstone Super Volcano.
Billy Olson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Havana Sugar Kings from being beaten, 4-2, to the Yellowstone Super Volcano at Volcano Ballpark. Olson went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kurat Feyzioglu picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Eric McKinney, who is tied for 6th in the AL in complete games with 1, was tagged with the loss.
Yellowstone took a 4-2 lead on Bill Worsham's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Worsham hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Havana pitcher John Charles visibly frustrated.
In postgame comments to the Yellowstone Citizen, Worsham said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Today's win puts Yellowstone at 34-55, while Havana falls to 39-48.
