Sugar Kings Capture Close Win
The Havana Sugar Kings racked up a win at Pizzas Ballpark, bumping off the Detroit Pizzas, 4-3, in 17 innings. Eric McKinney, who started for Havana, pitched effectively for his team. Austin Briese claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record stands at 2-3. Havana is now 42-46, Detroit 42-46.

Havana won the game in part because of Dave Castillo. The catcher ripped a solo home run in the top of the 17th inning to put the Sugar Kings ahead, 4-3. For the game, Castillo had 1 double and 1 home run in 7 at-bats.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Detroit manager Evan Compton, "let me know."
