The St. Louis Archies picked up a win at Ballpark of East Haddam, knocking off the East Haddam Hyenas, 8-6. Starting pitcher Mike Ricketts played a key role in the triumph. St. Louis needed the clutch hitting of Jason Widel to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Archies on top, 8-6. For the game, Widel had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Widel told the St. Louis Today.
