Porters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hyenas
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Dublin Porters and the East Haddam Hyenas. Dublin won it, 2-1. Dublin starter Juan Gonzalez was in command. Dublin reliever George Ritchie was the winner. His record is now 5-2. Jason Derrick took the loss. With the win, the Porters have a record of 45-41.
Dublin used a clutch hit from Travis Perez to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Porters ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"We did just enough to win," Perez said.
