The inspired effort of Kyiv second baseman Noah Abitia was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-4, to the Arizona Desert Storm. Abitia was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Arizona reliever Evan King picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Juan Valer took the loss. The third-place Desert Storm are now 39-46, the Cossacks 50-35.

The result might have been different, had it not been for two-time All-Star Jay Marshall. Marshall had a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Desert Storm ahead, 5-3. For the game, Marshall had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Marshall told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
