The Detroit Pizzas dealt the Waikiki Wayfinders a 5-3 loss at Ballpark of Honolulu. Chris Adams was the star on offense. He went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. With the win, Detroit raised its record to 52-33.
Dylan Lucas came through with a big-time hit for Detroit. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Lucas.
