Despite the rain, the fans at Pizzas Ballpark enjoyed a good ballgame.

Detroit Pizzas starter Phil Beard led his team to victory over the Hanoi Dragon Warriors, 3-2. The right-hander was locked-in. In 8 innings, Beard surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs.

Rich Ostapowicz came through for Detroit when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike fastball to center field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Detroit skipper Evan Compton. "I can't complain."

The second-place Pizzas are 41-44.
