Archies Need Extra Innings to Top Super Volcano, 4-2
|
St. Louis Archies starter Jim Harrington pitched his team past the Yellowstone Super Volcano in 11 innings, 4-2. St. Louis reliever Alex Garcia, who is tied for 4th in the FL in holds with 7, was credited with the win. His record goes to 4-2. Chris Wilson took the loss for Yellowstone. St. Louis goes to 53-31. The win puts them 6½ games up in their division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Rich Reis in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run home run off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Wilson to win the game for St. Louis. The home crowd went nuts.
"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Reis.
