Chicks Win at Sudbury, 6-4
|
With right fielder Mike Hernandez leading the charge, the Memphis Chicks defeated the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, 6-4, at Bulldogs Ballpark. Hernandez was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jeremy Myers, the winning pitcher, is now 5-6. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 4. Daniel Forsyth earned his 14th save in 17 chances.
Sam Clark went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Memphis. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-run single off Luis Espinoza. It was his 131st hit of the season.
"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Hernandez told the Memphis Observer.
With this game in the books, Memphis is 38-46, Sudbury 42-43.
