Beavers Get Extra-Inning, 6-5 Win
The Portland Beavers defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 6-5, in part because of designated hitter Luke Spradley. Spradley went 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk for the Beavers. The Beavers now have a record of 37-46 with the win over Los Angeles.

Batting in the bottom of the 12th, two-time All-Star Oscar Hernandez had a real shot to win the game. Los Angeles pitcher Earl Alexander was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Hernandez hit a run-scoring single. The Beavers had a walk-off triumph.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Portland field general GM bigbluex02.
