Detroit Tacks 4-3 Loss on Yellowstone
|
The Detroit Pizzas topped the Yellowstone Super Volcano, 4-3, in Alliance League action at Pizzas Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Detroit pitcher John Hoover. George Liston was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 15 save opportunities. Detroit has now won 5 games in a row.
Byron Brymer, who finished 5th in the AL in slugging percentage with .526 last year, chipped in a run-scoring single for Detroit in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
