The Arizona Scorpions withstood an impressive performance by Sudbury third baseman Steve Sanders to defeat the Blueberry Bulldogs, 6-5, at Desert Storm Stadium. Sanders went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. Joe Norment picked up the win in relief for Arizona, while Justin Roeber took the loss. Arizona, with the win, climbs to 26-55.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Arizona. That's when Ben Potgeter hit a solo home run off fan favorite Justin Roeber to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

In postgame comments to the Arizona Times, Potgeter said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
