Archies 3-1 Victors Over Brooklyn
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the St. Louis Archies and the Brooklyn Knights, Nate Edmondson, who finished 2nd in the FL in wins with 16 last year, was the difference-maker. The St. Louis right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The loss drops Brooklyn to 17-13.
The Archies got a big at-bat from catcher Oscar Florez. For the game, Florez was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead.
"Nate -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Archies manager Terry Schneekloth. "He was the key to us winning."
