Beavers Handle Buffalo, Snag 8-4 Win
|
Tyler Steele did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Buffalo Buffalo from being beaten, 8-4, to the Portland Beavers at Beavers Park. Steele went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Paolo Ferrari, who led the AL in saves with 39 in 2045, was the winner. He's now 2-2. The loser was Jimmy Miller. The win brings the Beavers to 16-13, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Portland took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Danny Gutierrez hit a 2-run single to make it 6-4, Beavers.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Gutierrez. "You've got to get results."
