Arocha Hands Kyiv 2-0 Loss
|
Ballpark of Honolulu hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Richard Arocha was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Ballpark of Honolulu. In fact, the Waikiki Wayfinders left-hander was instrumental in his team's 2-0 victory over the Kyiv Cossacks. The save went to Tim Pettit, his 8th this season.
Arocha earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Waikiki. The native of Wyoming, Michigan, allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 10. Kyiv hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Arocha.
The defeat makes Kyiv 17-11.
