The Buffalo Buffalo did just enough to sneak past the San Antonio Aztecs, 3-2, at The Greenhouse. Buffalo pitcher Qing-lai King, in particular, had a standout performance. Adam Moore picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. John Griese suffered the loss. The Aztecs fall to 11-17 and continue to sputter in the early going.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Matt Nagy came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing San Antonio pitcher John Griese, he hit a 2-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Buffalo on top, 3-2.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Nagy said.
