Kyiv Gets 7-3 Win
The Kyiv Cossacks downed the Arizona Desert Storm, 7-3, at Desert Storm Stadium. Steve Buffington led the way, going 2-for-4 for Kyiv. The winning pitcher was Zachery DeShields. He's now 3-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Cossacks. Arizona now is 15-11.

Kyiv used a well-timed hit by David Terkeurst to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cossacks ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"If you don't take any pitches off, you've got a chance to impact the game, and that's what we did," said Kyiv skipper Boris Lahutin.
