Arizona Beats Havana, 5-1
|
Arizona pitcher Ronaldo Sardinha had a large part in his team beating the Havana Sugar Kings, 5-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Esteban Vega collected his 4th save. The loss has the Sugar Kings at 15-11.
In the top of the third, Arizona second baseman Juan Silva had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out, Silva stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 1-0, Arizona. For the game, he was 1-4.
Silva told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
