With left fielder Albert Bencomo leading the charge, the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs defeated the Dublin Porters, 9-3, at Porters Ballpark. Bencomo, who is tied for 9th in the FL in hits with 29, went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. George Wilson, who finished 4th in the FL in wins with 15 in 2049, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Sudbury, now 15-10, has gotten their season off to a good start.
With Sudbury leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Bencomo batted against Dublin pitcher Adam D'Amonte. Bencomo hit a sinker to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Blueberry Bulldogs on top, 5-1.
