Led by Mike Webster, the Portland Beavers defeated the Brooklyn Knights, 8-6. Webster hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Beavers. Tony Orellana, now 2-1, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Andy Buhrke earned the save, his 9th, for the Beavers.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Beavers grabbed the lead when Webster hit his 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Grant Ferguson made it 8-6, Portland.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Brooklyn manager Enoch Tang.

Portland goes to 14-12.
