Esparza Raps Flagstaff for 5 Hits
|
Players get multi-hit games all the time, but 5-hit games are something else entirely. It happened today when Omar Esparza of Lincolnville Abes scattered 5 hits all over Skyhawks Ballpark against the Flagstaff Skyhawks. The center fielder was subdued in the postgame interview, however, saying Lincolnville's 7-3 loss robbed his big day of its luster.
"It was a good day for me, but not a good day for us," he said. "The bottom line in sports is to win and we couldn't do that today."
Omar Esparza singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, tripled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
