Sugar Kings Slap 3-2 Loss on Buffalo
|
The Havana Sugar Kings did just enough to sneak past the Buffalo Buffalo, 3-2, at The Greenhouse. Havana pitcher Mark Carlson, in particular, had a standout performance. Carlson got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Buffalo, with the loss, is still a stout 17-7.
The Sugar Kings got a big at-bat from first baseman Matt Freese. For the game, Freese went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Havana a 2-0 lead.
Freese told a Havana Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
