The 9-0 Havana win over St. Louis was due in large part to Jeremy Gillespie. The Sugar Kings third baseman was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Luis Lezama was the winner. He's now 3-1. The loser was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Harrington. The loss drops St. Louis to 13-9.

Andy Neufeld had a big solo home run for the Sugar Kings in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Havana leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Harrington and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Sugar Kings on top, 2-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Neufeld told the Havana Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
