Cossacks Get 8-4 Win Versus Osaka
Jim Garnet had a good game, but he could not keep the Osaka Takoyaki from falling, 8-4, to the Kyiv Cossacks at Kyiv Grounds. The Osaka designated hitter went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI in the loss. Kyiv reliever Trenton Peterson was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ben Bosley. Osaka, at 5-15, is off to a poor start in 2050.

Richmond, Kentucky-born Sam Lucot came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Cossacks trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Kyiv on top.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Lucot.
