St. Louis Archies starter Spencer Hay turned in a sparkling performance against the East Haddam Hyenas, leading his team to a 3-2 win. East Haddam, with the loss, is still a stout 14-5.

David Funk was the walk-off hero for St. Louis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Archies catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Spencer was really on it," said St. Louis manager Terry Schneekloth. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
