Desert Storm Rebuff Pizzas, 2-1

Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Arizona Desert Storm and Detroit Pizzas.
In a low-scoring affair between the Arizona Desert Storm and the Detroit Pizzas, pitcher Won-hyung Kim was the difference between victory and defeat. The Arizona right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Desert Storm win. In 8 innings, Kim surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run.
The Pizzas had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Desert Storm going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 2043 Rookie of the Year Award winner Won-shik Im came to the plate. Im hit a run-scoring triple on a first pitch fastball from Detroit hurler Jim Steeb. It was Im's 1st triple of the year.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Arizona skipper GM Fetty. "I can't complain."
With the loss, Detroit is 10-8.
