Beavers Win at Home, 7-5
|
The Portland Beavers had to overcome a big game from Yellowstone right fielder Josh George to leave Beavers Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. George went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Jason Scothorn picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-0. Yellowstone drops to 10-6.
Portland shortstop Sergio Garced helped the Beavers go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Garced hit a run-scoring single off Yellowstone pitcher Justin Kowalick.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Garced told the Portland Times.
