Beavers Nip Dragon Warriors, 4-3

The Portland Beavers topped the Hanoi Dragon Warriors, 4-3, in Alliance League action at Beavers Park. The standout performance belonged to Portland pitcher and Tampa, Florida, native Jason Scothorn. Ray Barber snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Dan Bass suffered the loss. Portland, now 10-6, has played well in the early going.
Had Matt Lamons not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lamons hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Beavers.
