Vespa Cracks 5 Hits
It was a parade of hits for Brian Vespa of the Portland Pickles at Walker Stadium.

Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Vespa finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Pickles to a win, 6-5.

"Vespa was really good and we were really bad," groaned Threshers manager Pedro Martinez. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."

Brian Vespa singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Phil Georgi in the 8th, walked in the 9th, singled in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
