With designated hitter Eric Heckman leading the charge, the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Portland Beavers, 9-5, at Sportsman's Park. Heckman, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in extra base hits with 9, went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The win puts Los Angeles at 5-10.

Dominique Petrocelli had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Kings. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Los Angeles trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Petrocelli.
