Wayfinders Popped by Porters, 7-3
|
The 2053 season is off to a good start for the Dublin Porters. The hometown Porters knocked off the Waikiki Wayfinders, 7-3, at Porters Ballpark. Dublin shortstop Pat Koerber paced his team to the win. Karl Gordam picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 1-0. Antonio Arredondo finished to wrap up his 1st save.
With Dublin leading 4-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Koerber came up to bat against Waikiki pitcher Casey Stewart. Koerber hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Porters on top, 7-0.
In comments to the Dublin Daily News, Koerber admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
