Hyenas Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
Fans of the East Haddam Hyenas who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a East Haddam win over the visiting Saskatchewan 92's, 5-3. Sergio Nunez started for the home team against Peter Mgulia. Sergio Nunez earned accolades for his performance. In 8 innings, Nunez surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 13 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Ricardo Moreno, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

East Haddam took a 4-3 lead on Ricardo Rodriguez's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Rodriguez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Saskatchewan pitcher Peter Mgulia shaking his head.
