Archies Rough Up Chicks, 8-2
|
The 8-2 St. Louis win over Memphis was due in large part to Danny Cuello. The Archies left fielder hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Nate Edmondson, the winning pitcher, is now 2-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 5. St. Louis, now 8-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Cuello had a key at-bat for St. Louis in the top of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and gave St. Louis an early 2-0 lead.
Cuello attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
